Next time... 

...I would stay a couple of days longer at Chiang Mai and possible go on a country tour from there. Then I'd skip Ao Nang and Ko Phi Phi altogether and go straight to Ko Lanta for about three days - mainly to do a overnight trip to Ko Rok Nai and Ko Rok Nok. The entire beach part would take place on Ko Jum.
